Privacy policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
raster.gg is a set of image tools that run entirely in your web browser. This policy explains what that means for your privacy, what information is collected when you visit the site, and the choices you have. It applies to everything on raster.gg.
Your images stay on your device
When you add an image to a tool, it is read, converted, edited and saved by code running in your own browser, using Web Workers and WebAssembly. Your images are never uploaded to raster.gg or to any other server. We cannot see them, we do not store them, and we do not keep copies. They are held in your browser's memory while you work and are discarded when you close or reload the page. Metadata embedded in your images, such as EXIF location data, stays inside the files on your device, and the Remove metadata tool strips it from the copy you save.
You do not need an account to use raster.gg, and we do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details in order to use the tools.
Information collected when you visit
raster.gg is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like almost every web host, Vercel records technical information about each request in server logs, such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, your browser and device type (user agent) and the referring page. We and Vercel use this to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose problems. Vercel's handling of this data is described in the Vercel privacy policy.
raster.gg does not run its own analytics or tracking scripts and does not set its own cookies. If that changes, we will update this page first.
Advertising and cookies
raster.gg is free to use and is funded by advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage and device identifiers, to serve ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure ad performance, to prevent fraud and, where you allow it, to show ads based on your interests, including your visits to this and other websites.
The information Google collects through these technologies, and how it is used, is described inHow Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and in the Google Privacy Policy. These cookies are set by Google and its partners, not by raster.gg. We do not receive your personal information from them.
Your choices about advertising:
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message provided by Google, a certified consent management platform, before personalised advertising cookies are used. You can accept, decline or manage your choices there, and you can change them later through the privacy options Google provides on the site.
- You can switch off personalised advertising from Google at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of personalised ads from many other providers at aboutads.info/choices.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The tools still work without cookies; you may simply see ads that are less relevant to you.
Third parties
The only third parties involved in running raster.gg are Vercel, which hosts the site, and Google, which serves the ads. Fonts and all tool code are served from raster.gg itself. We do not sell personal information.
How long data is kept
We keep no images and no user accounts, so there is nothing of that kind to retain. Hosting logs are retained by Vercel for the period set out in its policies. Cookies placed by Google expire according to Google's own settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR and the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act, may give you the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to certain processing and to withdraw consent. Because raster.gg does not keep personal information about you beyond hosting logs, there is usually little for us to provide, but you can write to us at any time and we will help with any request.
Children
raster.gg is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes, such as adding analytics, will be described here before they take effect.
